Sea Surface

Surface pattern for a public square in Blackpool as part of its urban redesign developed by leit-werk.

The created pattern resembles the sparkling surface of a rough Irish sea in the afternoon sunlight in Blackpool. Natural stone tiles in varying shades and length are employed. The tile size varies across five zones from small to large achieving a differentiation between vehicular and pedestrian zones without loosing the homogenous appearance.
